Somebody Fic This!: Say Yes to Trouble

Summary: When Quinn asks Shelby to join the troubletones, Shelby says yes but in one condition.

She has to dye her hair back to pink.

Maybe sectionals might go a little differently this time. 

“Please?” Quinn finished, then waited for the woman’s answer.

Shelby patted the spot next to her on the piano bench. “You’re not a train wreck, Quinn.”

The girl wiped a few tears away and smiled. “Sweet of you. Wrong—but sweet.”

“After a few weeks in the Troubletones, you’ll realize that I’m never wrong,” Shelby said.

“So…that’s a yes?”

“On one condition….”

“Hi Quinn,” Rachel said. “I like your hair.”

“Thanks. I’ve grown kind of fond of pink over the past couple of months.”

“Mr. Schue said you’d left New Directions for the Troubletones.”

Quinn sighed. She’d been dreading this conversation. “It’s true.”

“Quinn….”

“Rachel…listen. You’re the only one who treats me the way you always have. Everyone else…to all of them, I am a train wreck. The only way I can move forward is to remove myself a little bit. But you were right. I need glee. I need a positive outlet for all of this. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be,” Rachel said, smiling. “I…I can’t pretend I’m not sad that you’re defecting, but I’m glad you’re moving on. I miss happy!Quinn.”

Quinn smiled and, after a moment’s hesitation, hugged the shorter girl. “I have to go. I’ll…text you later or something.” She walked down the hall, heart thumping a little faster. Trying not to grin like an idiot, she avoided Shelby’s gaze as she entered the classroom.

“Told you she’d like it,” Shelby said.

Somebody Fic This!: The Adventures of Rachel and Lucy Q

“Watcha reading?” 
The girl sitting by a tree pushes her glasses up to the roof of her nose and looks up at an excited brunette girl with knee high socks, a plaid skirt and a reindeer sweater. 
“Nothing” she says defensively.
“You can’t just be reading nothing silly,” the brunette tilts her head to the side and giggles. 
“Well umm…” she plays with the hem of her dress, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” 
Suddenly the brunette jumps up and down excitedly, clapping her hands. 
“I for one love that musical! It’s a classic!” the young girl screams with excitement. Silence falls between them, while the excited young girl waits for a response. The girl leaning on the tree goes back to reading hoping that she will go away. 
“I’m Rachel Barbra Berry, future star,” the brunette introduces herself sticking out her hand for a handshake.
The other girl sticks out her hand, and shakes it nervously, “Lucy Quinn Fabray, umm future….reader.” she says.

Rachel suddenly lets go and gasps.

“OH NO! The munchkins are out to get us!” Rachel puts her hand in front of her open mouth.

Lucy looks at her in confusion.

“Over there! Look! There are pirate munchkins abandoning their sunken ship! They kidnap little girls who are fabulously talented and love to read! We have to run away!” Rachel overacts.

Lucy gets the game now, and puts her book away and stands up trying to follow Rachel’s lead.

“Here. Take my hand. Let’s follow the yellow brick road and see if the Wizard can help us!”

Lucy anxiously holds Rachel’s hand, wondering what adventures will happen next.
